PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Preventative Maintenance

The Importance of Preventative Maintenance➤

Your vehicle is an expensive investment that you will want to protect. A simple way to ensure you get the most out of this investment is by carrying out scheduled, regular, preventive maintenance service as advised by a mechanic or your owner's manual. While some issues can happen without warning, there are many issues that can be avoided and can help prevent costly repairs in the future. Preventative maintenance offers many benefits including:

  • Extends the life of your vehicle
  • Increases the safety and operation of your vehicle
  • Costs less than unexpected repairs and replacement
  • Saves you money in the long term

Some of the routine inspections that are part of vehicle maintenance include checking all fluid levels, ensuring tire air pressure is correct, making sure tires are aligned, performing an oil change, inspect and replace belts, check and replace air filters, and more. The team at AutoTek would be happy to service your vehicle if it is due for a check-up! We also offer auto repair services for those in the Raleigh community, including brake repair, car heater repair, power steering repair, suspension repair, and more. Tips to Keep Your Car Ready for the Road!

  • Keep your owner’s manual handy. It has information you need for suggested service appointments and basic functionality.
  • Check brake, power steering, transmission, oil, windshield wash, and antifreeze levels on a regular basis.
  • Familiarize yourself with your tire’s normal pressure and inflate or deflate accordingly.
  • Keep your engine tuned with other routine service appointments.
  • Visit a shop to have your chassis lubricated frequently.
  • Inspect the battery for signs of corrosion.
  • Clean and look over lights and signals. These should be replaced as soon as they go out.
  • Review your windshield for cracks or other signs of damage.
  • Have a professional look over the engine belt.
  • Change air filters to keep them from filling up.
